Lesson today is on Ruth! When I think her and her mother in law, it makes me happy to know I have a good mother in law as well. If I had to leave I would be able to go with her and enjoy my life as Ruth did.

3. Measure 1 Cup of the batter into a 1 gallon bag. Repeat 3 times so you have a total of 4 bags with 1 Cup of batter each. Keep a Starter for yourself and give the other 3 bags to friends. Mark the bags with the starting date. This is Day 1.
4. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
5. To the remaining batter in the bowl, add:
a. 3 eggs
b. 1/2 Cup milk
c. 1 Cup oil
d. 1 Cup sugar
e. 2 Cups flour
f. 1 large box (5.1 oz) instant vanilla pudding (not prepared)
g. 2 teaspoons cinnamon
h. 1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
i. 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
j. 1/2 teaspoon salt
k. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
6. Grease 2 large loaf pans. Mix additional 1/4 Cup sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. Dust the greased pans with half of this mixture. Keep the other half for the top in #7 below.
7. Pour the batter evenly into the 2 pans and sprinkle the remaining sugar mixture over the top.
8. Bake for 1 hour.
If you keep a Starter for yourself, you will bake every 10 days. This bread is very good and makes a great gift. Only the Amish know how to create the Starter, so if given one, remember to keep a Starter for yourself.
