Sunday was my lesson on "forgiving ourselves" I really wanted the girls to feel the spirit and know that they are loved. Why is it we can see the worth of others so easily, but it's so hard to see our own? I had a lot of positive affirmations on cute paper up on the board "you are more" "you are beautiful," "God allows U Turns," "just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are one" and so on. I started out by reading the definition of Cancer, which is evil, malignant, harmful and fast spreading. I then said that not forgiving ourselves will not kill us off and stop the pain. That this pain can be eternal if we let it. But there is a cure. I went onto talking about toxic shame and negative self talk. I handed them all out some ways to help the shame and talk in our head to turn it into something positive. I gave them a "positive Bin" to put things in when they are feeling down. On top was the 13th article of faith, and the front had a picture I bought at Deseret Book called "Forgiven." The box can be anything from poems to pictures. I then had each of the girls sit in one chair in the front and had everyone write something positive about her on a sticky note. The girls would come up and stick the note on her arm and whisper the positive all at the same time in her ear. The spirit there was strong, and I try to teach based on what would've helped me and hope that they can feel God's love the way I have so much. At the end I talked about Alma and how if he hadn't forgiven himself he wouldn't have been able to do the good in life that he did do. made heart shaped rice crispy treats with sprinkles and chocolate and wrote Alma 32:21 about his "Sweet" joy. I added the song "You are More" by tenth Avenue North in their bins.

For Valentines Day the kids made "Valentine Smores" for their grandma and grandpa and some cousins. They turned out pretty cute with the little heart marshmallows. I found the idea online.

Also on familyfun and from my sister, I decided to make candy Ipods for my kids and trent. Every year I heart attack them. this year they heart attacked the dog. This year Trent slaved over the stove to bring my favorite restaurant home. He made us all dress up and ate with candlelight, the kids loved it.

I noticed our hands look like we are in a high school portrait. lol

Trent helped me make the candy apples for the girls camp handout. It was our first attempt, but we came up with the idea t stick the apples in a paper cup so they don't get smeared in wax paper.

Ok, so I came up with a new idea for the Enchanted Handout. I love that the movie is full of spoofs of all the other Disney movies. Remember when the little guy is trying to get to her so he makes candy apples? She ends up throwing it at the biker dude and not eating it. Well I thought it would be cute to make candy apples with a hand out saying this:

The song is "How do I know"

How do I know HF loves me?
How do I know he really, really, truly loves me?

(all) He'll find his own way to tell you
With the little things he'll do
That's how you know
That's how you know
~Enchanted Giselle

We are so excited for you to come to camp & learn to live Happily Ever After!

Maybe that is cheesy poem but oh well eh. Then I have a big black basket we can carry the apples in

you're going to catch a cold

I am in love with this song "Jar of Hearts" Christina Perri,I think she has a beautiful face, and I love the raspy voice in this song.. Looks like someone like Mary from "So you think you can dance" choreographed it or something. I like it!
this choreography was awesome! Music is a little too hard for my taste, but the dance is Awesome to it!

Going Private

Ok I have a tracker on my blog and have had a few stalkers that come on here many times a day from places that I am already weirded out by. I wouldn't care if you said something, but since I don't know the 233 people that came here within the last 24 hours and I have pictures of my kids I decided I really am going private this time. I no longer have ANYONE's email address that want to stay on my blog. you can email me at dizzyvertigo@hotmail.com or leave a comment here. I'm putting it on private tomorrow. Thanks.

I have so many ideas for my young women lessons that as soon as I am done with my lesson I will post it on here for those who want lesson helps. The nice thing is we don't do the lessons exactly in order so if you are reading this, you may not have had to teach the lesson yet so you can copy my ideas!! COMING SOON...

For girls camp this year it is on a stake level. The Theme is "Happily Ever After" and "Heavenly Father Loves Me." (Now they are incorporating what I think with the trials so I am way excited for it) Maybe not all young women's back in the day was like this, but I for one remember in young women's two things. First one, and only one I am going to talk about right now is: Get married in the Temple to you a man who will take care of you and all will be perfectly happily ever after. The goal was getting to the temple. However, I wish they had given me some ideas on not just getting there, but also how to strengthen marriage. I am so glad they put in the Young Women's Theme " TO Strengthen Home and FAMILY" I decided that just telling people to get married and all your troubles melt away only sets them up for being a failure. How about instead of getting married and that being my happily ever after ending, How about Get married in the temple and your story BEGINS.. Learn to live Happily Ever After in whatever comes your way. If you read my blog you already know my theory of "Cinderella Syndrome" where one day your prince charming may fall off his horse, or you may trip on those glass slippers. One day you may wake up and your husband has cancer, someone in your family dies, financial troubles, etc. Life is not perfect but we need to find joy during the ride. I like to look at Adam and Eve (Which I had to laugh cause at my Women's Conference for the stake, one bishop must be reading my blog since he said what I already have. jk) They went through hell but they had each other in the end The troubles they went through prepared them to lean on each other for their loss of two children. One physically, one spiritually. I would like to incorporate that Happily Ever After I think happens by choice, that we can set good goals with good examples. Even the Disney princess we could take a spin off of it and say they went through trials as well. Hopefully, Our real Happily Ever After is when on judgment we see our Savior by our side. Don't get me wrong, this is probably not sounding like I support this idea. I DO. If you know me you know I love WEDDINGS, GLITTER, and anything that SPARKLES. I am a big girly girl and worked at a reception center and LOVED it. I LOVE Marriage. I LOVE LOVE young women's and coming up with ideas. I just want to be realistic and not set others up for failure when they realize they are not perfect nor is their spouse. It's healthy to know that's life. The trials come for us to learn. We really do have a Father in Heaven who loves us. Ok so after all that talk, I came up with a poem for anyone who wants to use it. Our ward chose "Enchanted" But I figured for the handout anything that ties in happily ever after/ princess and Heavenly Father loves me into it to get them prepared for camp worked. I don't think it's going to work since we aren't snow white so now I need to come up with something else. So someone can use it hopefully, here you go:

MESSAGE- Ok, so I was thinking about the little camp handouts. You said that the theme was Heavenly Father Loves me right? We are also doing a "Happily Ever After- Princess" theme. So this may sound cheesy, but I rewrote the Magic Mirror poem to We could put the poem on something similar to these pictures or just use tinfoil instead of a real mirror. We could even just make our own mirror onto a scrapbook card or something easy. we could put ribbon that have the value colors around the mirror like you see around the candyland invite. Anyways this is just one of my ideas, let me know what you think and I will look for more.
The Poem:
Mirror, mirror on the wall,
who cherishes me most of all?

Behold it is thy Father of the highest majesty
You bear a royal birth; a daughter of a King
For your infinite worth he does see
Rags cannot hide your divinity
Alas there is nothing more fair than thee

For He sent his son to bleed red as the rose
to cleanse our sins black as they may be,
To return our countenance as white as snow
For thou doest have a Heavenly Father who loves thee.

here is the real poem
Magic Mirror on the wall,
whose the fairest one of all?
famed is thy beauty majesty
but behold a lovely maid I see
rags cannot hide her gentle grace
alas she is more fair than thee
lips red as the rose
hair black as ebony
skin white as snow
Snow White!

For the pictures type MIRROR Card on Google Images/ candyland invite on it as well. It will show you who it came from and more of their awesome ideas!

D- Date Night! I am so glad that we have finally found people to trade babysitting with. One night a month I watch two families kids and that way Trent and I get two nights of no kids. Last night we used my sister's movie tickets she bought us for Christmas to see "The Tourist." It reminded me of an old Cary Grant movie, minus the unasked for swearing. I always guess what's going to happen in movies. I think I have done this ever since I saw "The Sixth Sense" and now I enjoy debunking movies. I like it when they actually can debunk me! didn't happen this time, but ~ I am sure it drives Trent crazy listening to me talk the whole movie. It was so nice to get a break and be with Trent.

C-calmness
As I sit here and listen to the new Young Women cd on 13th article of faith I am enjoying the peace and calm that I feel as I hear the music which is just piano playing. I feel like when you walk into a cute antique store and they have relaxing piano music playing in the background. Well right now I am ignoring the back background of screaming children,.. and tuning into the warm calm of music as I make dinner.
